Rosetta Stone and Bookkeeping

Many people have heard of the Rosetta Stone.  Because it had the same thing printed out in Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics, and Egyptian script, it became a key to understanding the Egyptian language using the Greek which was already known.  But what was printed on this stone?  Tax codes.  It was published in three different languages because the religious leaders understood one and the general public and tax collectors the other two.  (Read more here.)
